Step 1: Visit an authorized COVID testing facility as listed above.
Step 2: After medical staff perform protective and disinfecting steps, you will be taken samples as follows
Medical staff will take samples of upper and lower respiratory tract fluid. The Ministry of Health requires Covid-19 testing to be used to collect fluid samples in the oropharynx and pharynx. If it is not possible to take samples of the pharynx and pharynx, other samples will be taken.
Step 3: Get the resulting certificate after a certain period of time.
It depends on the specific medical provider where you take the test.
Generally, the PCR test result will be available within 24 hours. Some medical providers even send the result via email within 12 hours after testing so that you can prepare your COVID-19 certificate for traveling purposes. (You can take the test in the morning before 9 am and receive the result after 7 pm on the same day)
Don't forget to bring a mask, tissue, often clean your hand, and don't forget to choose a reputable hospital.
If possible please call to make an appointment in advance to avoid waiting too long.
RT-PCR tests are able to detect a minimal amount of viruses. It implies that you can be diagnosed positive even after having recovered from COVID-19 and are no longer contagious.
Testing sites can be incredibly busy these days as the number of cases in Vietnam goes up. You are advised to be patient and follow the guidelines of the medical providers to protect yourself and others around you.
